| I had a wonderful email from my HERmail connection, who has
helped me find perfect accommodation in Jaipur for the Literature Festival.
Thanks so much for starting HERmail! I am going to Prague and Budapest in May. I posted a request for
information on both cities on Hermail and got a lovely mentor in Prague.
She will meet us in the city and help get us orientated. She also gave
us advice on the good location of our hotel. This is my HERmail story about Rome. I was delighted when I received
an email from Marina a few short days after I had signed-up looking
for someone living in Rome. She gave me many suggestions for my visit
and even offered to help with my Italian. When I arrived in Rome I was
able to actually meet her and she went out of her way to make it happen.
She is a wonderful person and I am grateful for having a new friend.
Thanks, Hermail! When I knew I would be in Chennai, India on my birthday I used
HERmail to find a mentor for me for that day. The system put me in touch
with Winnie and her friend Shanti (two lovely women of a certain age)
who came to pick me up with a car and driver. Though their skin was
darker than mine and one wore a sari, these two Indian women could have
been middle aged women anywhere in the world. We worried about the same
things, had the same problems with our cell phones and noted the same
ongoing aging processes in our bodies. I was instantly comfortable in
their company. We talked non-stop, they took me shopping for clothes,
showed me the correct ways to wear Indian clothing and bargained on
my behalf. To celebrate my birthday I took Winnie and Shanti for brunch
at the Taj Connemarra, a hotel next to Spenser Plaza where we were shopping.
What a fabulous day! I want to say thanks a lot because I found a lovely new friend
in Buenos Aires courtesy of Journeywoman. I met her through HerMail.net
and asked lots of questions about Argentina, met up with her when I
was there, had a brilliant day wandering around in Buenos Aires and
we just clicked with being friends. So, there you know -- Journeywoman
and HERmail are not only good for travel advice, but great to meet lovely
people round the world too!!! Recently, while on a cruise I stopped in Cape Town, South Africa.
Through HERmail.net I met two delightful local women who helped to make
my stay there memorable. One was a journalist who interviewed me for
an article in a Cape Town magazine; we had a lovely lunch together.
The other picked me up at the dock and drove me all around the Cape.
She even stopped at home and I got a chance to see her small farm. At
dinner time she chose the fishing village and the local dockside restaurant
and I treated her to fish and chips. I hope she had as much fun as I
did that day. Hi, I live in Sydney, Australia, and volunteered to be a mentor
to women visiting Australia. I was excited and pleased to be contacted
by Kim, a young woman from New York who was coming to Sydney in January
and wanted some info about clothing, customs etc. I met Kim and I drove
her around the southern beaches, the Royal National Park, and to Stanwell
Tops where we watched the hang-gliders taking off. I thoroughly enjoyed
the day – and I think Kim did too. Thank you JW for linking me
up with a delightful person. I hope that more people will contact me
because I love Sydney and Australia and I really enjoy showing people

I met her through the site and asked her lots of questions about Argentina.
We met up when I was there, had a brilliant day wandering around in
Buenos Aires and just clicked with being friends. So there you go, not
only is HERmail good for travel advice, but great to meet lovely people

running again. Through this I met a lovely lady, Patricia from Quebec,
who came to Johannesburg. Since then we have been friends, communicating
for about the last 9/10 years! Hoping she will be out here in the near
future (or me to Canada!) Also made contact with a lady (Funmi) from
London who I also met here. Hello to Irene from Italy who has yet to
make it but we have communicated for three and a half years! It's just
great! My stay with Anne Marie and her friend Donna in Florida was outstanding,
we laughed so much and now they are going to host my next trip to the
US in October. I wouldn't be seeing the places they are taking me to
if I hadn't met them through HERmail! Through HERmail.net I corresponded with Delphine in Paris who is
a great gal who took me to some bars and I had a fun summer time. Summer
is really great in Paris as the mood is so light and the air is simply
happy. Thank you for producing such good partnerships with publishers,
writers and contributors! Through HERmail I met the greatest 'friend' in Sydney. Not only
did she meet us at the airport when we arrived in Sydney but also had
us out to her lovely new home for dinner. She even helped us to purchase
tickets to the Opera so that we could attend a show once we arrived.
This Australian woman visited us here in Boca Raton, Florida, USA last
year and will be here in the States again this year. We plan to catch
up with her during her travels in the USA, and travel together for about
3 weeks. She is a dear friend that I would never have had to opportunity
to meet if it were not for HERmail. I will be forever thankful for you
terrific service. If anyone ever needs help in either the Southern or
Northeastern part of the USA please have them contact me. Thank-you
again for your "HERmail" help. In researching my recent trip to Ecuador, I used HERmail.net. I
was able to chat via e-mail with travelers who'd been there, and even
one person who lives there. Having the best time in Rome... All the tips from the Journeywoman.com
site were great and I also got info from a hermail.net contact! Everything
perfect. I'm a Journeywoman living in France. I received two requests from
women via HERMAIL.net and I answered to both of them. I'm very grateful
to Hermail.net as I'm now regularly in touch with one of these woman.
Her name is Marlene and she lives in Vancouver. We learn about each
other little by little. Very interesting. I will let you know if we
meet luckily one day! Thanks. I met up with an Australian woman from Perth on HERmail and [since]
we've each visited each other's homes. Now I am hoping to travel in
Peru and Bolivia and am looking for women friends in these countries.
I think you offer a wonderful service to link women travellers. In 2000 I travelled to South Africa to speak at the Global Summit
of Women Conference in Johannesburg. Prior to my trip I contacted HERmail.net
and was put in touch with a wonderful woman named Marcia. Marcia provided
me with a ton of useful information on her city, answered my questions
concerning personal safety, and even met with me once I was there and
showed me her city from an insider's perspective. Thank you for providing
such a wonderful service. P.S. I have been a fan ever since I discovered
your site several years ago and am constantly recommending it to my
friends and colleagues. Keep up the great work. After e-mailing back and forth a few times from Montreal to Australia,
my travelling pal and I connected with a Sydney local,whom I met through
JW. We got together when she kindly picked us up at our hotel with her
car (which by the way was not close to her neighbourhood) and gave us
a tour of places that a tourist would normally not get to. Her friendly
face and cheerful personality made the day extra special. Thank you

her daughter's coming to Japan. Thank you so much for your help. Through HERmail I contacted Teena in Sydney and we met for lunch
when I was there. I will be keeping contact with her and we will probably
meet each time I visit Sydney - usually once or twice a year. I'm having lunch with a JW from Hong Kong tomorrow, and one from
Italy will be here in Feb sometime - HERmail is the catalyst bringing
women together around the world! Through HERmail I had replied to an American lady regarding some
queries on Bangalore, India and last week I spent 2 days with her, we
went shopping, lunching and sightseeing, it was a wonderful experience.
We exchanged so many notes about American and Indian culture. It was
just great!! This is the second lady I am meeting through HERmail. Thanks.
I contacted a lovely woman in Paris who was very helpful. Thank
you so much. What a GREAT web-site! Just wanted to let you know how great my HERmail contact turned
out to be. I visited Shanghai last week (part business, part pleasure)
and the woman you paired me up with there was not only helpful, but
friendly, and our getting together led to a business relationship too.

Thank-you for your terriffic service. I received information from
a lady in Malaysia that no book or even the internet could help me with.
It was specific, and relevant to me, and where I was going. When I asked HERmail.net for help regarding my trip to Mexico, I
got a response from a woman who runs Las Campanas, cooking classes and
tours in Cuernavaca. She helped me find a place to stay, showed me around
a bit when I got there and I even hired her to take me into Mexico City
to do some research I am involved in. Thank you, HERmail! While planning our trip to England, I made contact with someone
from Hermail who answered a question for me. We met her in England,
and now look forward to her visit next year. Journeywoman brings more

connection! This is to inform you that you have such a wonderful site. I happened
to respond to one of the queries about India to Carla King through Journeywoman
and HERmail.net, (Carla is a San Francisco based technical and travel
writer more so known as the Motorcycle Girl)and yesterday she landed
in Bangalore and we went out for lunch and hit it off very well and
today she was at my house fora couple of hours along with NDTV/BBC TV
Crew who are making a film on her regarding Internet technology and
Women in India. Thank you Journeywoman and HERmail.net for adding one
more friend to my list. HERmail.net is largely reponsible for some key contacts I have with
Indian women, via their website! Meeting one of them tonight. Can't

On my last trip, an extra added treat were the two evenings that I spent

Through HERmail.net I met a Canadian living in Moscow. Although we missed
each other when I was in Moscow (my ship was many hours delayed due to
fog), I was able two days later to meet the Canadian's friend - in downtown
Helsinki. It was nice to get a historic tour of that lovely city from a
local Fin.
What a great service HERmail.net is! I've already had a woman from
Portugal return an email to me and I just sent her one last night at 1 AM. I've
got 6 other countries that I'll be visiting and I've sent off messages to
most of those places, with more to go tonight. I found you through the
Rick Steve's Europe Through the Back Door site where a woman mentioned

I was a bit nervous about travelling to Beijing by myself. Now, through HERmail, I have
someone to meet there who has the same professional background that I have.
I needed information about Holland. My Dutch HERmail.net contact gave me a list of hotels and found me some B&B's, something I couldn't get from
travel books, the tourist office, hotel reservation pages, or even a general net search. I only
hope I can be of some assistance to another Journeywoman.

Before visiting Seattle I wrote to a HERmail.net woman living near there. She was
